Ahmedabad to Patan

Start you tour by visiting Calico Museum of Textiles. Known to be India’s leading specialized museums, the museum is said to have a comprehensive and distinguished collection of artefacts and textiles. After a brief visit there, explore the Shreyas Museum of folk art collections. Return back to hotel and overnight stay at the Ahmedabad.

After breakfast proceed to Gondal, a princely town of considerable importance and affluence visit the Navlakha Palace which houses the erstwhile ruling family’s private collection of bead work, textiles, brassware, hand-painted toys and silver crafts. Other places of tourist attraction comprise of the centre that promotes weaving at Gondal, and the historic buildings of Gondal. Later drive to Junagadh for overnight stay at Hotel.

After breakfast drive to Jetpur which is famous for its screen and block printing workshops, and a yam-dyeing centre. After taking a brief visit here, continue your drive to Junagadh, a historic city has 3rd century BC Buddhist relics, medieval fort, mausoleum complexes, palaces, etc to explore. On arrival, explore the beauty of gem-encrusted carpets, wardrobes and tapestry of the Nawab at the museums. Later in the evening return to Junagadh and overnight at Junagadh.

After breakfast, check out from hotel and drive to Jamnagar. En-route visit Rajkot, the city is known for its Watson Museum which has good examples of Gujarat’s craftsmanship skills, and Rashtriya Shala which works to revive hand-weaving. After taking a brief visit to Rajkot, continue your drive to Jamnagar. On arrival, check into the hotel and spend some leisure time. In evening, visit Vanzas who are known for their Bandhani (tie-and-dye) sarees. Later return back to hotel and overnight stay at Jamnagar.

After breakfast today visit the Aina Mahal Museum & Pragmahal Museum. In the afternoon, visit A.A. Wazir’s (National Award Winner Artiest) Textiles Museum Shop. Rest of the day is kept free for leisure and shopping. Later return back to hotel and overnight stay at Bhuj.

After breakfast, get ready for excursion of villages around Bhuj. Known for their distinctive styles of Embroidery, Tie and Dye Effects and other handiwork like Weaving, Block-Printing, Rogan-painting, etc. these villages give you a true glimpse artistic India. Return back to Bhuj for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Today morning, we will leave by road for Kutch that is blessed with a variety of traditional textiles and handicrafts. En-route, we will visit some tribal villages that are famous for their Ahir embroidery, Rabari embroidery and ajrakh block printing work which is famous worldwide. Thereafter, we will continue our journey to Kutch. On reaching Kutch, check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free for exploring the markets and monuments of the Kutch region by your own. An overnight stay at the hotel in Kutch.

In the morning after breakfast, we will leave Kutch to drive towards Dasada, famous for its Bharwad embroidery and Vadiara Rabari. Here, we will explore the hand work of local artisans and weavers. The place is best to see some of the great examples of Vadiara Rabari and Bharwad embroidery. Stay overnight at the hotel in Dasada.

After breakfast, Excursion Safari Tours of Pastoral Settlements and Villages Along The Rann Of Kutch. The Tours Visit the Rural Vadiara and Kharapat Rabaris Of Little Rann Of Kutch, Known For Their Embroideries, The Silk-Weavers Colony At Dasada / Bajana, And Ambala Village Of The Bharward Shepherds And Goatherds. The Weaving Cooperative at Bajana / Dasada and Other Artisans’ Workshops Can Also Be Included In The Tours. Other Societies Near Dasada / Bajana Are Padhars (Primarily Fishing People), The Siddis and The Semi-Nomadic Mirs, Jaths (Muslim Herders), Bajanias. Return back to Hotel for overnight stay at Dasada.

Today, after breakfast, check out from the Hotel and En Route, and visit Patan, famous for its double-ikat weaving technique also known as Patola Silk Weaving. After spending the entire day in Patan exploring its rich textiles. Later drive to Ahmedabad for an overnight stay at the Hotel.
